# What's different in unstable

> Summary of API changes in the unstable version compared to the latest stable release.

The `unstable` API version previews changes that will ship in a future dated version. Use it to
test upcoming behavior before it becomes stable.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Unstable APIs may change without notice. Do not use `/api/unstable/` in production.

## How to use unstable

Replace the version segment in your API path:

```
# Stable (2026-10)
https://api.loopreturns.com/api/2026-10/returns/...
# Unstable (preview)
https://api.loopreturns.com/api/unstable/returns/...
```

## Current differences from 2026-10

There are no differences right now. Every change that was in preview shipped in `2026-10`, so
`unstable` behaves the same as `2026-10` on every endpoint.

The unstable tab reuses the `2026-10` pages for every section. When a change lands in `unstable`
ahead of a dated release, its endpoint page is replaced with an unstable version and the change is
listed here.

***

When a new stable version ships, unstable rebases onto it and these differences reset.
